Led by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and held every year on 5 June since 1974, World Environment Day is the largest platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people worldwide. This year it will be hosted in Sweden.

Why is it important to celebrate this date and speak up?

Currently, Earth faces a planetary emergency. Rising temperatures, pollution and habitat loss threaten the stability of our home planet as we know it. To overcome this crisis, we must transform our economies and lifestyles to become carbon-zero, and we must educate young generations about the value of our planet.

As a crucial part of this transition, companies must face their responsibility and move towards more sustainable ways of doing business, reducing their impact and carbon emissions to zero or, even better, achieving a positive impact from their activities.
