Signs for The
Visually Impaired

Raised text and braille can be applied to nearly all standard Interior and Exterior sign products allowing users to create a cohesive design that integrates braille and non-braille signs without compromising the signage scheme’s overall aesthetic.

To support visually impaired visitors’ needs, it is also advised that signs be produced with a contrast between letters and background, which should contrast with the background upon which it is mounted. Tactile characters from Modulex are typically raised by 0.8 mm [0.0315″], sufficient to support visually impaired users’ requirements.
