WoodHub

After almost three years of close collaboration, development, and refinement, our signage project for WoodHub is now complete – a project where aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability merge into one cohesive expression.

WoodHub is a striking new office hub in the heart of Odense and one of Denmark’s most ambitious timber constructions. With its load-bearing wooden structure and warm, natural materials, the building sets a new standard for what future office environments can look like – and how architecture, nature, and technology can interact.

Through extensive collaboration with the client, architects, and contractor, we have developed a complete wayfinding solution that not only guides but also becomes part of the architecture. We conducted numerous tests and prototypes to achieve the perfect balance between function and form – and to create signage that serves users while respecting the building’s visual and material DNA.

In collaboration with the client and other project stakeholders, we selected materials, colours, and expressions that harmonise with WoodHub’s bright, open, and organic architecture. The solution includes:

  • Films and clear views that follow the building’s transparent expression and soft colour tones, making wayfinding feel light, integrated, and natural.
  • Wing signs in solid wood, treated with linseed oil to highlight the natural grain and create a warm, honest, and tactile expression that supports the building’s sustainable profile.
  • Pylons and orientation signs, strategically placed to provide intuitive navigation and ensure that everyone – employees and visitors alike – easily finds their way through the large building.

Everything is executed with deep respect for WoodHub’s architecture and sustainable vision. The signage is designed as an extension of the building’s design language, where natural materials meet precise craftsmanship and graphic clarity. The result is a wayfinding solution that not only informs but also enhances the experience of the building, a discreet yet essential layer in the whole.

For us, signage is about more than just direction. It’s about creating coherence, supporting identity, and making complex buildings easy to read. At WoodHub, wayfinding becomes part of the story about wood, sustainability, and human scale, an experience that feels natural and calm, no matter where you are in the building.
