Résidence Villa Baucis

Résidence Villa Baucis is a care facility in Fontainebleau, just outside Paris, dedicated to supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative conditions. As part of a recent expansion, the residence added 91 new rooms designed to better serve its residents’ needs.

Our Paris team collaborated with the facility’s director and interior designer to develop a unified signage solution that enhances comfort and orientation across the new and existing spaces.

To meet the project’s unique requirements, the team used a range of Modulex products, including Infinity panels for long-lasting durability, Paperflex displays for easy content updates, and vinyl graphics tailored to each floor’s interior concept. Signage colours and patterns were thoughtfully coordinated with the decorative themes to promote familiarity and reduce confusion.

New exterior signage was also installed to direct visitors to key locations, including the main entrance, emergency access, and delivery areas.

The signage project was complex as it required a specific approach to spatial orientation for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and a solution that worked across two distinct zones of the building. The result was aesthetically pleasing signage that was functionally effective for everyone: residents, visitors, and staff alike.

This project is a strong example of how design and communication can support inclusive, human-centred care environments.
