Raffinaderiet is a historical and industrial property in Lund, Sweden, transformed into a modern business space. Located in the heart of Lund, this building offers a blend of tradition and innovation, providing tenants with an inspiring and functional environment.

The team in Sweden collaborated with Wihlborgs Fastigheter, a leading property company in the Öresund region known for its sustainability, to design and build a comprehensive signage solution for Raffinaderiet.

The project involved creating exterior and interior signage concepts for the Raffinaderiet property. The signage strategy included tenant signage with decorative facade signs, wayfinding signage with ground signs, property name signage at the main entrance, and orientation boards. Entrance signage featuring address and directory signs was installed outdoors and inside the stairwells and elevators. The exterior signage palette consisted of oxidized paint, black, and warm white colours to harmonize with the building’s architecture. The interior signage incorporated copper elements, combining matte textured surfaces with glossy glass to create a striking contrast.

Eco-friendly signage solutions were also implemented, using Green Cast® recycled acrylic for the signs. The wayfinding signs were designed to be updatable, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint and allowing for easy changes without replacing the entire sign.

Raffinaderiet is a remarkable example of how thoughtful design and innovation can enhance a building’s historical essence while providing a functional and sustainable environment for modern business needs.
