QUEENS UNIVERSITY STUDENT’S CENTRE AND STUDENT UNION

March 10 – 2023.

The brand new Queens University Student’s Centre and Student Union is in the heart of the vibrant city of Belfast. Originally built in 1967, the new building incorporates the Students Union on one side and Student Services on the other.

The team in Northern Ireland were delighted to have been chosen as the main signage contractor for this prestigious project, which consisted of interior wayfinding and signage.

With a sleek interior and exterior design, the large building blends in with the main student hub in the centre of Belfast. Keeping the design aspect and the client’s branding in mind, the Northern Ireland team helped to manufacture and install signage that consisted of the following:

  • Six fully anodized aluminium columns, infilled with opal Perspex and internally illuminated with colour-changing RGB LEDs.
  • A massive 6m wide neon sign is suspended from the ceiling at the building entrance.
  • Over 800m of frosted manifestations onto the glazing combined with digitally printed graphics.
  • Printed illustrations drawn from scratch by local artist Fiona McDonnell and digitally printed by ourselves for application to the walls.

The team are immensely proud of the finished result and is honoured for this project to have been shortlisted to the final four in the British Sign Awards as the best interior signage project of the year.
