DGI, Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations, is Denmark’s largest volunteer-based sports and recreational organisation, and has consolidated its national headquarters into a new, centrally located facility in Vejle, Denmark. The new premises required both functional wayfinding and a strong visual identity that reflects the organisation’s values and activities.  

The team in Denmark delivered a comprehensive solution that included exterior signage, interior visual branding, and environmental graphics. The signage solution, which created  visibility and a clear and welcoming arrival experience, included:  

Exterior Signage  

• Three illuminated façade signs with a black lacquered finish  
• Refurbishment of an existing pylon sign with new full-coverage graphics  

 Interior Signage  

The interior solutions combine functionality, navigation, and visual identity through:  

• GreenBond™ door signs with tactile print  
• Graphic film bands and decorative elements on glass surfaces  
• Wall graphics and cut vinyl lettering  
• Printed acoustic panels with oak frames  
• Custom elements for meeting points and shared spaces  
• Cutout letters in lacquered 16mm Etronit. 

The use of GreenBond™ for the door signage is one example of how the project reduced carbon impact compared to traditional aluminium composite materials, without compromising on appearance, durability, or functionality. 

The graphic elements were designed and positioned to complement both the building’s architecture and DGI’s identity. Rather than appearing as add-ons, the solutions feel like a natural and integrated part of the environment. The final solution delivers: A clear and cohesive visual identity, improved navigation throughout the building, and a balanced approach to design, functionality, and material selection.
