Återbruket, a reuse centre operated by Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, is a pillar of sustainability and innovation in Sweden. Recognized for its unique and eco-friendly design, the exterior sign for Återbruket was awarded “Sign of the Year 2021” in Sweden.

Commissioned by Stockholm Vatten och Avfall and in collaboration with Martin Frostner, our Swedish team crafted a sign that embodies the spirit of reuse. The sign was made from recycled materials, including old aluminium plates, second-hand LED lighting, and recycled acrylic. The concept features freestanding letters in separate units with backlit LED lighting, celebrating aesthetic and environmental values.

The entire Återbruket sign represents sustainability and circularity. Using recycled aluminium avoids the energy-intensive process of producing new materials, while second-hand lighting reduces environmental impact. The use of recycled acrylic further underscores our commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The Återbruket project exemplifies how creative design and sustainable materials can create award-winning solutions that inspire and lead the industry toward a greener future.
