Modulex Heads to Rio Olympics
July 26 – 2016.
Finding your way to the Danish Pavilion, designed by the acclaimed Henning Larsen Architects, during the Rio Olympics should be a breeze. Not only because it is the only country pavilion on the world-renowned Ipanema Beach, but also due to signage created by Modulex in their sustainable facility in the heart of Denmark, at the request of VisitDenmark.
When the Olympic Games 2016 kick off in Rio de Janeiro this summer, The Danish Ministry of Business and Growth and VisitDenmark will welcome foreigners and locals alike to their spectacular Danish National House on the world-famous Ipanema Beach. The ‘Heart of Denmark’, a 300 m2 beach pavilion will showcase the very best of Danish culture, business, sports and tourism, highlighting Danish core values and competencies.
The dynamic venue designed by Henning Larsen Architects has a simple and light expression as a reference to Nordic architecture and to Denmark’s maritime and sailing history. However, its shape also pays tribute to Rio de Janeiro’s hilly landscape and is inspired by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer’s iconic style.
The external signage, manufactured in Modulex’s Denmark facility, will be delivered to the venue, along with a suite of campaign materials that support venue activities promoting the Danish way of life, sustainability and culture. A flexible display system will support the graphics required for events, while Messenger and Compass products will inform and guide visitors around the space hosted by VisitDenmark.
The Danish pavilion will be open from 2nd – 21st of August from 11am to 10pm and will be open to the press and the general public. VisitDenmark’s CEO, Mr. Jan Olsen, comments, “Showcasing the best of among other things Danish culture, lifestyle and design at one of the most famous beaches in the world enables us to connect with both local citizens and tourists, business people and the foreign media during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. It’ll be open to all and builds on characteristic Danish values such as a sense of community, sustainability, innovation and great design,” Mr. Olsen adds.
The pavilion will also host a series of Danish Sustainability Days where companies, including Modulex, will be presenting their Danish visions and solutions for sustainable development to a global audience.
